“A Caregiver is someone you can depend on..She/He has to be affectionate, responsible, analytical, flexible, self-motivated and can work under pressure. Qualities that I humbly say that …”YOU CAN DEPEND ON ME.”

I enjoy being a part of Granny’s Place – the residents and the other caregivers are family to me.  Currently, I am on special assignment, providing one-on-one care for one very special lady.  Everything I do is done whole-heartedly and with dedication.”

“I think it’s important to build a connection to each of the residents.  Caring for the residents is like caring for my own Grandparents.  I like to dance with them, sing with them, play games and chat with them.  I enjoy taking care of them and try to make a difference in their lives.”

“I work with dedication and put my heart into my work, giving each resident special attention.  Rather than to entertain the residents, I like to engage them by talking with them and getting to know them.  I observe each resident and learn to understand the best way to get along with them and meet all of their needs.  I pay special attention to their likes and dislikes in order to please them.  It’s important to anticipate their needs and desires so I can provide for them and give them the kind of care they deserve.”

“I wake up early every day and enjoy making breakfast for the residents.  I have learned that it’s important to show respect to each resident, going slowly as I help them with the tasks of daily living.  I believe it is important to be gentle with all the residents, but especially those with dementia.  I like to occasionally serve a special meal outside to make it more fun for the residents.  I enjoy singing and dancing with them.  At night, I like to sleep lightly so that I can hear if any of the residents needs assistance.”
